Miley Cyrus breaks silence on Dolly Parton’s health crisis

Dolly Parton is gearing up for a comeback after a rocky few months, with goddaughter Miley Cyrus revealing the country legend is “excited” to get back to work.

The 79-year-old superstar sparked concern last month when she pulled out of Dollywood’s induction into the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Hall of Fame, citing “health challenges”. 

Fans feared the worst, but Miley has now offered a reassuring update.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the Flowers singer said, “She’s always gonna keep the show going. The show must go on. She’s just excited to get back to work.”

Dolly previously addressed the rumours herself in a series of heartfelt Instagram videos, insisting she wasn’t as unwell as people feared. 

Filming from a set while shooting commercials for the Grand Ole Opry, she said: “Everybody thinks that I am sicker than I am. Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here!”

The music icon admitted she’d neglected her own health while caring for her husband, Carl Dean, before his death in March. 

“I didn’t take care of myself,” she confessed. 

“Nothing major, but I had to cancel some things to stay close to home and Vanderbilt.”

Despite undergoing “a few treatments”, she made it clear she’s far from giving up.

With a smile, she quipped: “I’m not ready to die yet. I don’t think God is through with me — and I ain’t done working.”

Fans will no doubt be counting the days until the Queen of Country is back centre stage.
