Kate Winslet is offering up her stance on the use of quick and easy methods people use to maintain youthfulness and also the rise of weight loss drugs for a speedy shed.
The Titanic actress’ viewpoint is different from most of her peers, who typically get some work done to their faces in the form of botox or fillers and she is also concerned about the use of highly popular drugs like ozempic.
In an interview with the Sunday Times, the 50-year-old stated of the widespread drug use, “It is devastating, if a person’s self-esteem is so bound up in how they look, it’s frightening.”
Kate went on to say that sometimes she has mixed feelings, when she sees actresses at events being happy with how they look but then she goes back to thinking about how many people are on the drugs.
She added, “And do they know what they are putting in [their bodies]? The disregard for one’s health is terrifying. It bothers me now more than ever. It is f***ing chaos out there.”
The Avatar: Fire and Ash star also advocated for women aging naturally and embracing themselves instead of opting for botox.
Notably, Kate said that the idea of perfection and beauty that people are aspiring to are likely unrealistic and made worse with social media and its effect on people’s thinking.
Kate Winslet was around 20-21 years old when filming for Titanic, and 22 when the movie was released in 1997.
