Former President George W. Bush extends wishes to Joe Biden

On Sunday, George W. Bush who is former republican president of the United States congratulated Vice President-elect Kamala Harris and President-elect Joe Biden on their election victory.

Joe Biden defeated Republican Donald Trump after getting 290 electoral votes as per The Associated Press.

Bush stated that he called both Harris and Biden and congratulated them on their victory in election 2020.

"Though we have political differences, I know Joe Biden to be a good man, who has won his opportunity to lead and unify our country. The President-elect reiterated that while he ran as a Democrat, he will govern for all Americans” Bush said.

Bush further added that he offered him the same thing he offered Barack Obama and Donald Trump: ‘my pledge to help in any way I can’.

"The challenges that face our country will demand the best of President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris – and the best of us all. We must come together for the sake of our families and neighbors, and for our nation and its future” he added.
