English TV star Kelly Osbourne made an emotional appearance on television, her first since her father Ozzy Osbourne’s death in July.

The English music icon passed away on July 22 weeks after performing for a huge crowd of fans.

December 3 would have marked Ozzy’s 77th birthday which was commemorated by the city of Birmingham by honouring the late singer with special award.

Ozzy was was posthumously awarded with Birmingham's highest civic honour, the Lord Mayor's Award.

Speaking on BBC Breakfast, Kelly opened up about her grief of losing her father.

“It actually has been horrific. I have never ever felt anything like grief. I never realised that you could love someone so much”, Kelly said.

The TV star also spoke of the importance of the award saying this reflects his life’s work and would mean alot to him.

“The fact that he has been recognised in such a way means so much to us because he loved this city, he loved Birmingham, he was a true Brummie through and through, and to be recognised in this way, it's incredible”, Kelly added.

The prerecorded interview aired on Thursday, a day after Ozzy was honoured in Birmingham.

The award was handed by over by Deputy Lord Mayor Ken Wood to the late singer’s widow Sharon.
