The Beauty, a concept that plagued Hollywood for long, becomes a series with long list of guest stars from the industry.
Most noticeably, the 11-episode long show features Victoria Secret super model Bella Hadid, looking perfect as she gives deadly stares in the first look.
The story revolves around two FBI agents racing against time to uncover the mysterious deaths in the modelling world.
They uncover a sexually transmitted virus that helps achieve physical perfection, “but with terrifying consequence.”
However, the plot did not sit well with fans as they penned down their criticism on X (formerly Twitter).
A critic analysed the upcoming project adapted from a 2016 comic book, calling it a repackaging attempt of Ryan Murphy to present “grotesque vanity.” They added that the beautifying results of STD “is a cynical, sensationalist concept designed for cheap shock value.”
Another netizen was of the opinion that the director is “obsessed with the Hollywood scene” as “majority of his projects have been around these ideas.”
According to many, the show could have been a new season of American Horror Story, which “lost its amazing atmosphere after Season 5.”
The Beauty is set to debut with three episodes on January 21 at 9 p.m ET with rest of the parts airing every week on Hulu.
Along with Bella, the series will feature several stars including Isabella Rossellini, Nicola Peltz Beckham, Peter Gallagher, Vincent D'Onofrio, Meghan Trainor and others.
