Daniel Stern comes forward to justify his absence and reveals why he prefers not to attend the mega event of the iconic Home Alone’s 35th anniversary.

However, the 68-year-old actor’s absence has nothing to do with the film or its fans. He is remembered for playing the role of burglar Marv alongside Joe Pesci.

The legendary actor opened up in a latest interview about his choice to stay home and revealed the reason to be just his preference to spend his time at his farm home.

“I don’t leave my farm,” Stern admitted, explaining that while he’s more than willing to hop on calls or join the celebration via Zoom, he’s still “a bit of a homebody.”

Despite his being missing in action, the star claims he remains deeply grateful for the never-ending love and support for the 1990 holiday classic.

“I love knowing that everybody loves it,” he shared. “But actual people coming up and saying, ‘We love it,’ can be a little overwhelming sometimes.”

Stern also recalled the moment he first got the chance to read John Hughes’ script calling it a memory that still lives with him.

“It was the funniest script I’d ever read. I was rolling on the floor laughing, but it also had so much heart,” he said, pointing to the storyline between Kevin, his neighbour, and his mother. “It was so emotional.”

Even from afar, Stern’s love and gratitude for the film and its admirers remain unmistakable as he chooses to just celebrate from the comfort of home.
