Pop sensation Taylor Swift has done the unthinkable and just in time for the festive season.
The 35-year-old superstar’s latest hit, The Fate of Ophelia from her dazzling 12th album The Life of a Showgirl, has soared to the top of Spotify’s global charts, even knocking Mariah Carey’s iconic All I Want for Christmas Is You down the rankings.
Notably, December is usually the time when holiday classics rule the charts, with Mariah, Michael Bublé, and a flurry of Christmas favourites dominating every playlist.
But the Bad Blood singer is holding firm at #1 like it’s just another day at the office.
Fans are stunned as her record-breaking track clocks its eighth week at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, matching the longevity of her previous mega-hit Anti-Hero.
Even more, her other fan-favourite Opalite sits pretty at #10, proving she’s not slowing down anytime soon.
Meanwhile, holiday legends have finally climbed into the top 10 with Mariah’s festive smash jumps to #5, Wham!’s Last Christmas at #6, Brenda Lee’s Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree at #7, and Bobby Helms’ Jingle Bell Rock at #8.
Non-Taylor hits like HUNTR/X’s Golden (#2) and Alex Warren’s Ordinary (#3) add a touch of variety, but it’s clear who rules the charts this December.
