Meghan Markle may be heading into one of the biggest tests of her post-royal career as Netflix reportedly watches closely to see whether her Christmas special can save the future of her cooking and lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan.
The Duchess of Sussex is preparing to drop her festive episode on December 3, following the same feel-good, California-luxe format as her first two seasons.
But according to PR expert Rhea Freeman, the Christmas episode isn’t just another cosy instalment but it may be the deciding factor on whether Netflix greenlights a third season.
She told the Express: “From looking at the numbers available in terms of the audience for season 2, I’m not sure we’ll see a season 3 soon. Although there is the Christmas special to come, so it'll be interesting to see what kind of viewing figures that sees.”
While Meghan was reportedly enthusiastic about continuing the series, Netflix has stayed silent about any renewal. And the numbers may explain why.
In Netflix’s most recent Engagement Report, covering January to June 2025, With Love, Meghan landed at No. 383, pulling in 5.3 million views.
Season two also didn’t get the benefit of fresh filming as it was shot back-to-back with season one, meaning Netflix hasn’t yet tested whether Meghan’s brand remains a strong viewing magnet long term.
With the Christmas special set to drop this week, the pressure is officially on. A strong performance could secure Meghan another season.
