FKA Twigs, widely recognised as an experimental singer, recently praised North West after their collaboration on the singer’s latest album, Eusexua.
The 37-year-old artist, whose real name is Tahlia Debrett Barnett, called the 12-year-old “emotionally mature.”
The killer singer revealed North raps in Japanese on the track Childlike Things, and said the young Kardashian-West’s insight left her genuinely impressed.
“I feel like she’s seen so much and she’s so mature in a lot of ways, especially emotionally,” Twigs told Rolling Stone UK.
“We went for a few dinners, and she said things that were big and profound. Her observations of humility were very on the nose and true to the things I’ve learned as an adult.”
For the songstress, the collaboration was a full-circle moment.
For the unversed, she first worked on Childlike Things when she was just 12 or 13 herself, and as a shy, bullied child, she longed for a confident, tenacious friend.
“To give the child in me a friend like North West, to come and hang out with, was healing,” she admitted.
The singer also spoke about the album as a whole, describing Eusexua as precise and distilled
Fans are now eagerly streaming the album, curious to hear North’s Japanese rap debut
