American actress and singer Hilary Duff opens up about Britney Spears inspiration ahead of music comeback.
The 38-year-old Younger star recently shared a charming clip from a Variety magazine interview, reflecting on her early music days and the inspiration that set her on the pop path.
“I ended up loving doing the voice lessons and exercises, but I wasn’t like a singer,” Duff admitted, revealing she has a voice impediment that made singing a challenge.
She added that it wasn’t until her love of lessons combined with an obsession with Britney Spears that the idea of pursuing pop music truly clicked.
With a cheeky smile, she continued, “I was like, well I’m also gonna be a pop star, so watch this.”
Fans have plenty to be excited about, as Raise Your Voice actress announces her first album in over a decade, Luck…or Something, arriving February 20, 2026.
The follow-up to 2015’s Breathe In. Breathe Out. is already teasing with lead single Mature, co-written alongside Grammy-winning husband Matthew Koma and songwriter Madison Love.
Speaking on the quirky album title, she revealed, “It’s luck, but there’s also a lot of weight in the ‘…or something’.”
Moreover, the Lizzie McGuire Movie star isn’t stopping at the studio.
She’s set to return to the stage for the first time in over ten years with her Small Rooms, Big Nerves tour, kicking off January 19.
