Jimmy Kimmel has clapped back at President Donald Trump after he pressed for Kimmel to be taken off the air once again through a social media post.
On Thursday, November 20, an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! featured the host reflecting on a tweet from Trump that he had seen after waking up that day.
"A special hello to those of you who are watching from the White House, and you know who you are,” Kimmel started, adding that when he woke up this morning, his wife came out of the bathroom and grabbed her phone.
“She goes, 'Um, Trump tweeted you should be fired again,' " he said, referencing the president's late-night Truth Social post.
Kimmel’s reaction was just an “Oh,” as he added that he went downstairs in his house and made bagels for his kids after hearing the news, giving it less importance.
"It's like late last night, the Angry Orange posted, 'Why does ABC Fake News keep Jimmy Kimmel, a man with NO TALENT and VERY POOR TELEVISION RATINGS, on the air? Why do the TV syndicates put up with it? Also, totally biased coverage. Get the bum off the air!!!' " the host continued.
Kimmel mimicked, “I’m the bum,” adding that Trump posted this at 12:49 a.m., “11 minutes after the show ended on the East Coast, which is nice," Kimmel said.
"He watches us live. Hi, Mr. President. How are you?” Kimmel addressed the president on air. “Thanks for watching us on TV instead of on YouTube. We appreciate that. And I'll tell you, it's viewers like you who keep us on the air, ironically."
