Cynthia Erivo, who shares screen with Ariana Grande in Wicked: For Good, accidentally became a viral meme while promoting Disney’s new movie.
Although there were many reports explaining what happened, Cynthia sat with Jimmy Fallon on his late night show to reveal a back story to the incident.
The 38-year-old actress took the audience and host right back to the beginning, admitting that she lost her “beautiful hat” a year ago at the premiere.
After keeping it a side while watching the film, Cynthia left the hat behind and never found it again.
While the singer and the team were "devastated" at the time, she rejoiced after meeting a fan in Paris at the event who stood at the “end of the line.”
This fan informed the Needle in a Timestack star about the hat she wore in London, disclosing: “Well I have it.”
The statement shocked the Hollywood star so much that it resulted in the birth of this viral moment. Soon, her astonished expression began trending everywhere on the internet.
In exchange for the accessory, the admirer asked for “tickets to the premiere,” a condition which was accepted by Cynthia. On the other hand, the performer was “reunited” with the beloved fashion piece.
This came after the on-screen duo cancelled show as the Emmy winner lost her voice. Ariana also stepped back from the event in solidarity with the songwriter.
