Demi Lovato, who first rose to fame as a child star on the Disney Channel in Camp Rock, has opened up about the pressure to marry and her past struggles.
The 33-year-old pop star, who married Jordan “Jutes” Lutes earlier this year, revealed that she once felt intense societal pressure to tie the knot by a certain age.
The Heart Attack singer says that finding love with Jutes “just organically happened.”
Speaking to Who What Wear, she explained, “There’s all this pressure society puts on you, but it just organically happened. I’m really happy.
I told my husband today, ‘I’ve never been more in love with you. I didn’t know my love could grow for you more than it already has.’”
Demi, who has previously dated Joe Jonas, Wilmer Valderrama, and Max Ehrich, also reflected on lessons learned from past relationships.
“I had been in relationships where I thought, ‘This is the long game!’ but I hadn’t taken care of myself yet,” she admitted.
The songstress has been open about her personal challenges, including her 2010 stint in rehab following a bipolar disorder diagnosis and treatment for bulimia.
On the Las Culturistas podcast, she explained why she shares her experiences with fans: “I had a very public outburst when I was 18. Sharing my story felt like the right thing to do.”
