Sydney Sweeny to join Mamma Mia 3 Cast?

Amanda Seyfried wishes to see creators casting Sydney Sweeney in the possibly upcoming 'Mamma Mia 3'.

Seyfried said she believes the third film is closer than people think. “Maybe I’m just naïve, but I’m pretty sure Mamma Mia 3 is a done deal,” as reported by Variety.

The first 'Mamma Mia!' film arrived in 2008 with Seyfried and Meryl Streep leading the cast.

The second movie of the franchise, titled 'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again' was out in 2018 and starred Lily James as a young Donna Sheridan.

After the successful hit of the two movies, another addition has been in talks for a long time now.

Although the movie has yet to start filming, which is hinted to be due for 2026, Seyfried believes she knows where the story is headed.

The Last Word actress expressed her wish to play the character of Sophie as a mother, adding that the film has the capacity to introduce new family members.

“Maybe she has a cousin she hasn’t seen in a while, and that could be Sabrina Carpenter. And then Sydney Sweeney could show up,” she said.

Seyfried also expects the original cast to return. “The three dads are going to come back. Meryl is a ghost, obviously, so she’ll be around,” she joked.

The official announcement is yet to be made about the release of Mamma Mia’s third sequel and its cast by the creators. However, Seyfried has already set fans' hopes high with promising comments.
