Keanu Reeves celebrates recovery of property lost in 2023 heist

Keanu Reeves, widely known as the star of The Matrix for his iconic role as Neo, has recently been reunited with items stolen from his home.

The 61-year-old actor recovered precious belongings taken from his Los Angeles residence in a 2023 jewellery heist, after an international FBI operation. 

The agency confirmed on Tuesday, November 18, that the recovered property, including six luxury watches, has been returned to him.

Among the items is a Rolex Submariner engraved with a personal message, valued at at least $9,500, with the total worth of all the watches estimated at around $125,000. 

According to the sources, the items were seized in eastern Santiago, Chile, in December 2024, and one suspect was arrested in connection with the violent robberies. 

Chilean authorities officially handed over the property on July 29.

Reeves expressed his gratitude in a handwritten note to the FBI, writing: “It is with profound gratitude and appreciation that I am writing this letter… 

Thank you so much for all your effort, dedication, professionalism and cross-border cooperation. My warmest regards, Keanu.”

The John Wick star retrieved his belongings in August during a meeting with FBI personnel and a Chilean officer in New York, concluding a year-long investigation that underscored the scale and reach of cross-border crime.
