For Leonardo DiCaprio, it might just be one award after another this season, and the Palm Springs Film Festival is set to add its emblem to his awards shelf.
The Oscar-winning actor is set to receive the 2026 Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actor, at the upcoming ceremony for his latest movie, One Battle After Another.
“In One Battle After Another, Leonardo DiCaprio delivers a riveting and emotionally charged performance, embodying a man pushed to his breaking point in the face of relentless adversity,” said Festival Chairman Nachhattar Singh Chandi.
Acknowledging his career contributions, the chairman added, “DiCaprio has continually redefined what is possible in screen acting, bringing emotional depth, artistic integrity, and fearless commitment to every role.”
Paul Thomas Anderson takes the reins as writer, director, and producer of One Battle After Another, which centres on Bob (Leonardo DiCaprio), a once-feared revolutionary now living in a haze of paranoia.
Off the grid and far from his former glory, he survives alongside his fierce, resourceful daughter Willa (Chase Infiniti).
But when his long-time nemesis (Sean Penn) resurfaces after 16 years and Willa suddenly disappears, Bob is forced out of hiding. What follows is a frantic search that pushes both father and daughter to confront the wreckage of his past.
The Palm Springs International Film Festival, founded in 1990 in the desert city east of Los Angeles, will return for its 2026 edition from January 2 to January 11.
The festival’s film awards are set for January 3 at the Palm Springs Convention Center.
