Christian Bale moves fans with excitement as he discusses joining Michael Mann’s upcoming movie 'Heat 2.'
The decision is yet to be made by both parties, but if Bale gets signed for the movie, he will be playing his undisclosed character alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.
The long-awaited sequel of the 1995 crime drama movie is officially heading under the banner of Amazon MGM Studios. The filming is expected to begin next year, as reported by Deadline.
Mann shifted the project originally with Warner Bros. to Amazon after the production became too expensive and unmanageable for the studio.
He also lowered the budget to $170 million from the previously decided $230 million to make the movie financially realistic, according to IndieWire.
The filmmaker, while talking to reporters at Lumiere Film Festival in France, explained, “Heat 2 is an expensive movie to make, but I believe it should be made at the proper size and scale.
"It's going to shoot in Chicago, Los Angeles and Paraguay, and possibly some parts of Singapore,” he continued.
The plot of the movie is based on Mann’s novel of the same name as the upcoming movie, which he co-authored with Meg Gardiner.
The story revolves around two different timelines, with one focused on Chris Shiherlis escaping after the failed bank heist and the other is set in 1988 Chicago, showing Vincent Hanna's rise in law enforcement, details confirmed through Mann’s book.
The Insider director also claimed that the film will be shot at multiple international locations, including Chicago, Los Angeles, Paraguay, and possibly Singapore.
While Bale’s casting in 'Heat 2' remains in discussion, fans are excited than ever to see him on screen again.
