Jimmy Kimmel and his wife Molly McNearney have opened up about the talk show host’s recent suspension, but netizens appear to be done with the subject.
The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host and his wife revealed the reaction their children had to the news at the time, and instead of being endearing it came across as awkward.
In an episode of the We Can Do Hard Things podcast, the duo stated that they had to start off slow with their children Jane and Billy and ask them about their day first.
“Our daughter immediately burst into tears. And she said, ‘I’ll sell my Labubus,” said McNeary, who is the co-head writer and executive producer of the show.
The 47-year-old then stated that their son Billy had asked them if the President, Donald Trump, had caused it, to which they said yes.
Netizens took to social media to make fun of the remarks, writing, “I’ll take “Things that Never Happened” for $1000, Alex.”
“My 8-year-old son Jasper held a LaCroix stand to raise money for Jimmy so his daughter could keep her Labubus,” wrote another as a third simply added, “Alright let’s wrap this up.”
Jimmy’s friend, Cleto Escobedo III, passed away due to complications from a liver transplant.
