David Harbour has stunned fans with his dramatic new look for his latest role in Evil Genius, a true-crime thriller directed by Friends icon Courteney Cox.

The 50-year-old actor, fresh from walking the red carpet for Stranger Things season five, was spotted filming in New Jersey on November 10.

He was seen sporting greying hair, a thick beard, and a padded suit beneath denim overalls, which made him almost unrecognisable.

The Hellboy actor was transformed into real-life pizza deliveryman Brian Douglas Wells, who became infamous after the shocking 2003 “pizza bomber” case in Erie, Pennsylvania.

The new film, written by Courtenay Miles, is inspired by the hit 2018 Netflix docuseries Evil Genius: The True Story of America’s Most Diabolical Bank Heist.

Notably, the star-studded cast also includes Patricia Arquette, Garret Dillahunt, Danielle Macdonald and Ryan Eggold.

In between takes, the Thunderbolts* star was seen smiling beside Cox, who is both directing and producing the project.

Speaking about the film, the 61-year-old actress, said: “It’s stranger than fiction — darkly funny and deeply emotional.

It’s about love, loneliness, manipulation, and the people on the fringes who get caught up in something much bigger than themselves.”

Reportedly, with Harbour’s remarkable transformation and Cox directing, Evil Genius is shaping up to be one of the most gripping true-crime dramas of the year.
