Hollywood superstar Jennifer Lawrence, who gained international fame for her breakout role in Winter’s Bone, has opened up about the darker side of dating on set.

The 35-year-old Oscar-winning actress revealed that some of her past male co-stars reacted negatively when she rejected them.

While appearing on the Las Culturistas podcast with comedians Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, she said, “A lot of male actors get offended if you don’t want to f*** them. And then the punishment starts.”

When Matt jokingly referred to it as a “cute little social punishment,” Jennifer added with mock seriousness: “I’ve just heard of this, I’ve never experienced it…”

The Red Sparrow actress, promoting her new film Die My Love, explained she felt completely at ease with co-star Robert Pattinson, and didn’t feel the need for an intimacy co-ordinator.

“I felt really safe with Rob. He’s not pervy and very in love with his partner Suki Waterhouse,” she said, laughing.

She explained that their conversations mostly revolved around their children and personal relationships, so there was no awkward tension or guessing about mutual attraction.

Directed by Lynne Ramsay and based on Ariana Harwicz’s novel, Die My Love explores a woman’s mental unraveling and marital struggles after becoming a mother.

It’s worth noting that the highly anticipated film was released on Friday, November 7, 2025.
