Jennifer Lawrence had Jimmy Fallon visibly fiddling during her chaotic, tear-filled appearance on The Tonight Show Thursday night, November 6.
The Oscar-winning actress, 35, struggled to hold it together as she repeatedly burst into tears throughout the interview, leaving Fallon trying, and failing, to keep the conversation on track.
From the start, Lawrence admitted she was “nervous” and referenced a recent New Yorker profile in which she confessed to being “annoying” in interviews early in her career.
When Fallon urged her to speak, the Hunger Games star joked that she “wasn’t gonna say a f***ing word,” before breaking into dramatic sobs mid-sentence.
Her first meltdown came as she tried explaining how she got attached to her upcoming film Die My Love, directed by Lynne Ramsay, calling the filmmaker a “genius” before dissolving into tears again.
Fallon attempted to comfort her, insisting, “You’re having fun! This is fun!”, prompting Lawrence to laugh before tearing up once more while recounting a mix-up on the Canadian set involving the term “room” for trailer.
By the end, both the host and audience were left wondering whether to laugh or hand her tissues, classic Jennifer Lawrence chaos.
