Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has weighed in on the latest scandal surrounding Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
This came after the disgraced former prince was formally asked to give evidence to a US congressional committee investigating convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Speaking to British reporters while attending the COP30 summit in Brazil, Starmer said the decision ultimately lies with Andrew himself.
“In the end, it’s a matter for him personally,” the Prime Minister said.
“Anybody who has relevant information should always be willing to give it to whatever inquiries need that information. But the individual decision is a matter for him.”
The US House Oversight Committee recently requested that Andrew sit for a “transcribed interview” about his long-standing friendship with Epstein.
Andrew, who was stripped of his royal titles and honours last week, has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
