Andrew being stripped of his titles is a historic decision that will become a precedence for the future.
The former prince lost all his royal titles due to the grave accusations he was facing which was consequently affecting the reputation of the royal family.
On October 30, it was announced that the former prince will be stripped of all his titles and styles and will now be called “Andrew Mountbatten Windsor”.
The decision was quickly backed by the UK government who “welcomed” the move made by King Charles.
In addition, the people of UK have also backed the king on his decision.
According to a poll conducted by YouGov, 79% of people backed the British monarch’s move to strip Andrew of his titles.
The poll was published on November 1 which also demonstrated that 53% people believed that Charles did everything he could.
However, there 58% of votes that believed that the move could have been made sooner. The opinion has echoed around the world as many believe that the former duke’s links to Jeffrey Epstein have been too grave to delay the decision for so long.
Andrew has been notified to vacate the Royal Lodge and will have to stay in a private property personally funded by the king but in 2019, during his mother Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, Andrew has already ceased to be a working royal due to the allegations he was facing.
