Nicole Kidman casts spell ahead of ‘Practical Magic 2’

Nicole Kidman is keeping the spirit of Halloween well and truly alive, with a touch of Practical Magic.

The 58-year-old Oscar-winning actress sent fans into a frenzy on Friday, October 31, after sharing a mysterious post on Instagram featuring a set of beautifully illustrated, nature-themed tarot cards.

“Just a little #PracticalMagic for your Halloween,” she teased in the caption, a clear nod to the long-awaited sequel to the 1998 cult classic.

The cards, featuring delicate sketches of oak trees, acorns, salt bowls and flowers, were arranged among lavender and daisies, with the final slide showing them laid out on a candlelit table beside a sketch pad and pressed blooms. 

Fans were quick to speculate that the images were taken from behind the scenes of Practical Magic 2, especially since Kidman tagged Warner Bros. and the film’s official Instagram account.

The Babygirl actress will reprise her role as Gillian Owens alongside Sandra Bullock, with returning co-stars Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest as the eccentric Aunt Franny and Aunt Jet.

Joining the spellbinding cast are Bullet Train star Joey King as Sally’s daughter, Guardians of the Galaxy’s Lee Pace, Game of Thrones alum Maisie Williams, Cobra Kai’s Xolo Maridueña and House of the Dragon actor Solly McLeod.

Directed by Susanne Bier, Practical Magic 2 promises to bring the Owens family’s magic back to cinemas on September 18, 2026 .
