Kelly Osbourne writes emotional message for dad Ozzy’s lifetime award

Kelly Osbourne received her late father, British rock legend Ozzy Osbourne’s, lifetime honor in his native city, Birmingham.

On Saturday, October 18, Kelly took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt tribute for the Grammy-winning musician’s lifetime achievement award at this year’s Birmingham Awards. Ozzy passed away in July.

“Last night I had the honor of accepting my father’s lifetime achievement award on his behalf at the @birminghamawards. I can’t thank everyone enough for their love and support,” Kelly wrote in her Instagram caption.

“I know that my dad was shining down on us from heaven with pride,” she continued, “because being a #Brummy meant more to him than anything.”

She further acknowledged his dedication to his roots, writing, “He loved the city and he loved the people. This honor would have meant the world to him. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. #birminghamforever.”

Kelly posted a picture of herself standing at the Black Sabbath Bridge memorial, dressed in a long, black tailored coat, perfectly suited to the emotional significance of the moment, as she held her father Ozzy’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Fans acknowledged Ozzy’s achievement and Kelly’s persistence in receiving her father’s honor on his behalf.

“Your dad is proud of you, and we miss him dearly. The world feels different knowing Ozzy is gone, but he will live on forever,” a fan commented.
