Celebrities bash Amy Coney Barrett’s supreme court confirmation

Amy Coney Barrett has been confirmed to the US supreme court. President Donald Trump nominated her a month ago, and now she was confirmed by 52 to 48 votes. Countless celebrities seem to be concerned about the judge’s views on gun safety, LGBTQ+ rights and abortion.

However, there were also speculations about Coney Barrett’s nomination, it came as a surprise for people when she got nominated and it seemed like Trump literally just saved her for this moment. She will now be filling Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's seat.

Most of the Hollywood stars reacted did not approve of Barrett’s confirmation, they questioned her conservative views regarding certain matters and her lack of experience as well.

Katie Couric pointed out that Barrett was a trustee of a Christian school that did not hire gay professors or took children who had LGBTQ+ parents.

“3 of the justices on the Supreme Court were put there by Presidents who lost the popular vote. There was the unjust denial of Obama’s pick in Merrick Garland and now the travesty of Amy Coney Barret by a President 10 points behind in the polls. The Supreme Court needs balance”, Mark Ruffalo tweeted.

“6-3 doesn’t represent me. Flip states blue, stop the GOP”. Kumail Nanjiani tweeted.

Nancy Pelosi tweeted, “President Trump and Senate Republicans have committed an act of supreme desperation: jamming through a Supreme Court nominee just eight days before Election Day as part of their years-long campaign to destroy Americans’ health care”.

The celebrities are concerned about the future as Amy Barrett's views have always been controversial and she is also affiliated with extremist quasi-Catholic group called ‘People of Praise’ that only attracts Christian people.
