American singer Cher and Congresswoman Susan Lee hosted a rally of about 100 people Saturday night in Las Vegas to encourage people to vote in the general election 2020.

In the first of two voter mobilization events sponsored by the Biden-Harris campaign this weekend hosted by the singer and actress Cher and Lee rallied at The Gramercy Residences in southwest Las Vegas to promote why they’re voting for Joe Biden.

About 100 people participated in the Saturday rally. Lee said that judging by early voter turnout, residents are excited to vote after witnessing President Donald Trump’s decisions the past four years.

At the events, speakers emphasized how Joe Biden is the right candidate to cope with COVID-19 and to help Nevada’s economy recover. “People are fired up and ready for change,” she said. “We live in a community who has seen this failed leadership in action.” Lee said the nation’s next president is tasked with ending the pandemic.

Lee is an American nonprofit executive and politician from the state of Nevada. As a Democrat, she has been serving as the member of the United States House of Representatives for Nevada's 3rd congressional district since 2019.

She further added, “We need someone who recognizes the science,” she said. “We’re not going to get out of this devastation until we beat this virus”.

Known as the ‘Goddess of Pop,’ Cher also hosted a pride walk to the polls in Las Vegas on Sunday.
