Madonna reveals darkest secrets about ex-husband Guy Ritchie

Madonna, known as one of the most influential and successful pop stars of all time, has shocked fans with a startling admission.

The 67-year-old Queen of Pop broke her silence in her first podcast chat in almost ten years, joining Jay Shetty on On Purpose.

Madonna has revealed she once contemplated suicide during her custody battle with ex-husband Guy Ritchie over their son Rocco.

She described the 2016 court fight as “one of the most painful moments” of her life, admitting she was left broken by the ordeal.

“There were moments in my life I wanted to cut my arms off… I actually contemplated suicide,” she confessed. 

“Someone trying to take my child away from me was like, they might as well just kill me. I really thought it was the end of the world.”

At the time, the Frozen singer was touring her Rebel Heart show, yet behind the curtain she would collapse in tears. 

The battle began after Rocco, then 16, chose to stay in London with his father. 

After months of legal wrangling, a settlement was reached allowing him to remain in the UK.

Now, the superstar says she and her son are “good friends” and credits her spirituality with saving her. 

“Thank God I don’t feel that way anymore,” she said.

Madonna also revealed she reconciled with her estranged brother Christopher Ciccone shortly before his death from cancer last year, describing the reunion as “a weight lifted”.

The songstress has since launched a Kabbalah course, insisting: “Success is having a spiritual life. I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t have one.”

How many times has Madonna been married?

Madonna has been married twice in her life. She first tied the knot with Hollywood actor Sean Penn in 1985, but their stormy relationship ended in divorce four years later in 1989. 

More than a decade later, she married British filmmaker Guy Ritchie in 2000, with whom she shares her son Rocco. 

The pair’s marriage lasted nearly eight years before they parted ways in 2008.
