Chris Martin, best known for his chart-topping hits, confessed it’s hard to move on from the music that has shaped his life for nearly 30 years.
A Sky Full of Stars hitmakers have reportedly confirmed they will stop recording albums after releasing their 12th studio record.
The 48-year-old singer admitted he is struggling to let go as the band prepares for its final chapter.
Furthermore, he also confessed he remains deeply tied to the group he has led for almost three decades.
Ahead of Coldplay’s final Wembley show on their Music of the Spheres world tour this Friday, Chris told The Sun’s Bizarre column: “I’m trying to let go of everything, but I still love my job. I love our band, I love what we do. Maybe that means I’m too attached.”
The music star revealed the band’s decision to cap their career at 12 albums is about protecting their legacy.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, he explained: “We are only going to do 12 proper albums. Less is more. But having a limit keeps the quality high."
Chris hinted the group could still work together creatively in the future but stressed any post-album projects would be “different” or “side things.”
The “Coldplay kiss” refers to a viral kiss-cam incident at the band’s Gillette Stadium concert in July 2025.
It showed tech CEO Andy Byron and HR head Kristin Cabot awkwardly dodging a kiss, prompting Chris Martin’s quip: “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
The clip sparked global speculation and led to both executives resigning.
