Lady Gaga flaunts her newly won VMAs at MSG performance

Lady Gaga won three MTV VMAs before dashing to Madison Square Garden to celebrate with her fans and honour her victories onstage.

Sunday night, Sept. 7, was a whirlwind for Gaga, who picked up Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Direction, and Best Art Direction.

However, she only stayed long enough to accept the first award of the evening before rushing from Long Island, where the ceremony was held, to Manhattan for the final New York City stop of her Mayhem tour at Madison Square Garden (MSG).

Even so, most of her VMAs still joined her onstage, as fans noticed the Moon Person trophies were cleverly incorporated into her Perfect Celebrity performance.

Three of her four silver statues were placed in the set design, alongside skeletons and skulls scattered in a sandpit, as she belted out: “You can’t get me down, you love to hate me, I’m the perfect celebrity.”

Earlier that evening, when the Abracadabra singer scooped up Artist of the Year, she dedicated the award to her fans and her fiancé, Michael Polansky.

"I cannot begin to tell you what this means to me," Gaga said. "I hope as you navigate through the mayhem of daily life, you are reminded of the importance of the art of your life — that you can count on yourself and your simple skills to keep you whole."
