The internet is struck by rumours that Disney star Debby Ryan has died of drug overdose. However, it is nothing but a spiteful hoax.
The 27-year-old actress became the subject of a death hoax when a viral tweet purporting to be from entertainment website TMZ claimed that she had died. The fake post that looks original at first glance showed TMZ label on the Twitter handle.
Alongside a photo of Debby smiling, the caption of the post read: “Insatiable star reportedly found dead after an alleged drug overdose.”
Soon after the fake news went viral, worried fans flooded the internet with tweets to authenticate if the Rip Tide actress is really dead.
One user wrote, “Is @DebbyRyan ok? I’m actually getting worried considering the rumors going around, you’d think she would come online and clear them if they’re false right?”
While Debby has not addressed the rumours herself as yet, she was last seen active on Instagram Sunday.
The actress dedicated a post to her Disney show “The Suite Life on Deck” pointing out that it was 12 years ago. She also posted a photo of a yummy cake with a waffle on Twitter that suggested no trouble in the actress’s life.
Debby Ryan got engaged to Josh Dun in April 2018 and the couple happily tied the knot in December 2019.
