Ty Burrell opens up about leaving L.A. for his 2 teens daughters

Emmy-winning comedic actor Ty Burrell is enjoying his life in Utah with his two daughters and wife, Holly, so much that he feels no regrets about leaving California.

In 2020, Burrell left L.A. and moved to another state with his two teenage daughters, Frances and Greta.

Speaking with PEOPLE in an interview in Salt Lake City, where he lives with his wife and daughters, the Modern Family icon said, "It's just been spectacular."

"We moved here right after [Modern Family] ended, and I don't have any regrets. It's been lovely and a great place to raise the kids," he added.

The voice behind the animated hit Finding Dory is currently starring in the scripted podcast series The Good Life, which is loosely based on his own childhood.

Ty admitted he is "itching" to get back into acting again, but for now, he is loving voiceover work so he can continue his outdoorsy lifestyle.

However, Ty also recalled that he was never an outdoors lover when he first moved to the mountains, saying, "My parents weren't really those kinds of people."

"So at first, when we moved here, it almost felt like cosplay,” Ty told the outlet, “like we were pretending to be people who were outdoorsy, and now we really truly love it.”
