Dakota, Elle Fanning announce first ever project together

Dakota and Elle Fanning have both had successful acting careers in Hollywood, and the sisters have never collaborated on a movie together, until now.

The duo is set to play sisters onscreen for the movie adaptation of the Kristin Hannah’s best-selling novel The Nightingale.

In an official Instagram post by the movie on July 22, the caption read, "For the first time ever, sisters Dakota and Elle Fanning are set to star in a film together, in the adaptation of Kristin Hannah’s global book phenomenon The Nightingale.

The note continued, “Directed by Michael Morris, #TheNightingaleMovie is coming exclusively to theatres February 12, 2027."

In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, the star-studded pair revealed that they always wished to act alongside each other but were looking for the right opportunity.

Dakota and Elle thanked director Melanie Laurent for bringing them together for the coming of age film, which is a dream come true for them.

The sisters ended the address with an enthusiastic remark, showcasing their readiness to embark on the project which follows the journey of siblings at the advent of World War II.
