'As the World Turns' star Eileen Fulton dies at 91

Eileen Fulton, who is notable for portraying Lisa Miller, breathed her last at the age of 91.

The actress passed away on Monday, July 14 in Asheville, N.C. after suffering from a “period of declining health.”

The news of the sad passing was announced by her family members in an obituary.

The veteran actress was among the first ‘bad girls’ of the CBS show As the World Turns, which she joined in May 1960.

Although the soap opera was originally planned to be a three-month summer storyline, Eileen portrayed the role for 50 years.

The character earned her a Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award and was included in Soap Opera Hall of Fame.

Eileen gushed about her character in 2005 that she is a “romantic, that’s why she falls in love so much” as the character Lisa had eight husbands throughout the storyline.

Two of her eight partners were portrayed by Nicolas Coster. Lisa faced three divorces, one husband was annulled while four died.

At the end of the show, her name ended up being Lisa Miller Hughes Eldridge Shea Colman McColl Mitchell Grimaldi Chedwyn as she had various love interests.

Eileen, who was the daughter of minister James B. McLarty, was herself married three times in real life. She leaves behind her brother Charles and her niece Katherine.
