The company Astronomer, of which Andy Byron is the CEO, is responding to scandal after he was caught in an intimate situation with his head of HR at a Coldplay concert.
The clip of them captured on the cam went viral after the two jumped away from each other and hid their faces, with Byron being a married man.
Astronomer’s cofounder and chief product officer Pete DeJoy will be taking on the role of interim CEO, according to the company, as Byron has been placed on leave.
“Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability,” read the statement, adding that the board of the directors at the company have “initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly.”
The person he had been embracing in the video was found to be Kristin Cabot, the chief people’s officer at Astronomer.
After their bizarre reaction to the cam, Coldplay singer Chris Martin remarked, “Whoa, look at these two. Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
