Shannon Sharpe, who is notable for being a sports commentator, finally backed a major win in his $50 million lawsuit.
Although the NFL legend was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in 2024 and 2025, the case has been dismissed due to recent developments.
However, the football tight end has finally reached a settlement in the suit which was announced by the alleged victim’s attorney Tony Buzbee.
He took to Instagram to announce that both the sides “have reached a mutually agreed upon resolution.”
The lawyer made it clear in the statement that the matters have “now been addressed,” "satisfactorily" marking an end to the case.
According to the documents, Shannon sexually abused the accuser Jane Doe (pseudonym) after they first met in LA’s gym in 2023.
It was alleged in the original fillings that Jane was only 20 years old during her first meeting with sports host, who was in his mid-50s.
This was followed by a “rocky” relationship between the two.
Despite being accused of the heinous crime, Shannon continued to deny the allegations levelled against him.
In a statement issued by the 57-year-old’s lawyer Lanny J. Davis, the rape accusation was called “an egregious attempt at blackmail.”
The American footballer is not married to anyone currently but has been in many relationships. However, he is a father to three children.
