This Is Spinal Tap, the 1984 mockumentary's famed keyboardist and actor, David Kaff, breathed his last at the age of 79.
The British singer's death was announced by his band, Mutual of Alameda's Wild Kingdom, through their official social media profile.
On Friday, July 11, the group members of the deceased’s band posted a heartfelt condolence on Facebook that begins with the text, which reads, “We are devastated by this event.”
“David always had a kind word and a quick wit that would slay you where you stand," the statement continued.
However, the Turning the Lights Out songwriter's cause of death wasn't revealed yet, but according to the social media update, he went to eternal rest during his “sleep”.
The obituary of the Passing Through singer wrapped up by saying, “Then he’d make you smile doing it! RIP dear brother.”
Notably, the legendary singer passed away two months prior to the premiere of Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, which is scheduled to hit theatres on September 12, 2025.
Apart from David Kaff, many other iconic actors and vocalists performed in the movie This Is Spinal Tap, such as Rob Reiner, Fran Drescher, Ric Parnell, Michael McKean, Christopher Guest, and Harry Shearer.
