Stranger Things actor Finn Wolfhard has revealed his long-held music passion in a recent podcast titled Q with Tom Power.
Talking to the host, the Canadian musician opened about the music journey since his childhood and how he always enjoyed going to music shows with dad.
“My dad would take me to the shows. But that’s because we both shared the love for music,” Finn said.
While asking about the origin of love for music, It actor explained: “I was around six or seven and my mom was talking about the Beatles. I was like ‘who are they’... But playing their songs over and over again helped me find my interest.”
“After that I was just like, Oh…music that is what I like and want to do in my life,” Finn added.
The 22-year-old actor also called music “liberating” as compared to acting.
“My life as an actor is unbelievably fulfilling and great and I’m so lucky to have it…but acting at a certain point is just you know being told to stand here and deliver the lines. Someone else is controlling your creative aspirations,” Hell of a Summer actor said.
He continued: “Music is like this is 100 percent mine, like I own this and can kind of control it however I want…It is a way of establishing freedom in the industry.”
Now, Stranger Things is coming to an end. Finn has launched a solo music career with his newly released debut album, Happy Birthday.
Before launching the solo music, Finn Wolfhard has released music with the bands The Aubreys and Calpurnia.
Crown is the new song by Finn Wolfhard which was released on June 6, 2025.
