Adam Levine, 46, recently opened up about a prank his mate, Blake Shelton, pulled during their time as coaches on The Voice.
The frenemies have always been at each other’s throats since day one on the reality show.
On July 3rd, Maroon 5’s lead vocalist revealed in an episode of the podcast, Hot Ones, how he ended up with a $5,000 worth ‘teacup pig.'
“My now-wife, then-brand-new girlfriend Behati Prinsloo, said she really wanted a teacup pig. And I didn’t know what that was," Adam confessed.
“So I asked Blake. I’m like, ‘What’s a teacup pig?’ He’s like, ‘I’ll get you a teacup pig. Yeah, give me five grand," he recalled to host Sean Evans.
Notably, the term ‘teacup pig’ refers to a potbellied pig that is underfed but can become huge. It’s a misleading term to sell the animal because it appears cute when it's small.
The Animal singer and his wife, Prinsloo, couldn’t keep the pig for more than three weeks and had to rehome it with a girl on a farm.
“We’re like, ‘Send us pictures, we can’t wait to not be responsible for this animal any more! Just show us pictures!” he laughed.
Six months later, the girl sent the couple a snap of a 400-pound pig.
“I’m just like, ‘Blake, bro, $5,000 for a pig that wasn’t a microig?'” Levine told Evans. “And he’s like, ‘You’re an idiot! There’s no such thing as f**ng teacup pigs, you dumba*' So that was a pretty good prank that he played on me.”
Notably, Shelton never repaid Levine the $5,000.
