'X Files' composer Mark Snow dies at 78

Mark Snow, known for being the composer of The X-Files music composer, passed away at the age of 78 in his Connecticut home.

The veteran TV composer, the 15-time Emmy nominee, was also notable for creating songs for Hart to Hart, T.J. Hooker and The Ghost Whisper.

The news of the sad passing was announced by a fellow musician Sean Callery through his official Facebook page.

The 61-year-old wrote in the obituary: “Mark Snow, and one of the most wonderful and talented people I’ve ever known, has passed away.”

He revealed that Mark “began mentoring” him 33 years ago as an artist. This evolved into a strong “friendship that would only grow and evolve over 3 decades.”

Sean expressed his gratitude towards the late artist “for his sage counsel and his laugh-out-loud biting wit.”

Mark remained associated with the horror series while it aired from 1993 through 2018. His work on the show’s music helped the musician back six Emmy nominations.

Apart from the series, the departed soul lent his talent to TV movies, which include Angel City, Malibu, California Girls and Stanger in Town.

How did Mark Snow die?

Although the news was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, Mark Snow’s cause of death has not been publicly announced.

The artist leaves behind his wife Glynnis along with his three daughters and grandchildren.
