Ozzy Osbourne announces final show in emotional farewell

Ozzy Osbourne is saying a bitter-sweet farewell to his fans as the 76-year-old music icon plans to retire from live performances.

The rock star will perform for the last time on Saturday, July 5, at Birmingham’s Villa Park.

The Black Sabbath’s frontman shared a heartfelt note for his fans, saying, “I am feeling very emotional and blessed. It’s my final score and a chance to say thank you to my fans for always supporting me.”

The Paranoid singer continued, “It’s a goodbye as far as my live performances go, and what a way to go out. I am forever in debt to my fans who always showed up for me.”

In a relief for the heartbroken fans, Ozzy announced that he’ll continue recording music.

Talking about why he picked Birmingham for his last show, the singer said, “I had to go back to the beginning,” as Ozzy’s first ever gig was at The Crown Pub in the same city in 1968.

The five-time Grammy Winner artist’s last show will be streamed online two hours after the in-arena start time i.e. 3pm BST, giving the music icon’s fans a chance to witness their favourite artist perform live for one last time.

Ozzy is suffering from several health issues and he has undergone seven surgeries in the past five years. He has also been battling Parkinson’s disease since 2003.
