Taylor Swift sets precedent for heavy metal band
The pop star has inspired many musical acts
Pop star Taylor Swift is arguably the most influential musical acts of the 21st century as she has set many presidents and broken many traditions.
The singer recently bought the ownership of her master recordings of all her albums after a decade long fight and rerecording 4 of those albums.
Taylor rerecorded and released the albums as Taylor’s Version to own her music which was unheard of before.
Following her pursuit, the hard rock and heavy metal band Five Finger Death Punch has now decided to re-record their music.
After the band, that was formed in 2005, found out their music was sold by their former label, Prospect Park, they decided to re-record their big hits.
“Her actually doing it, battle-testing it, gave everyone real-life telemetry. A proof of concept”, guitarist Zoltan Bathory told Page Six.
He added “Now there’s precedent, an actual measurable example that it’s worth the heavy lifting. After that proven chess move, artists choosing to respond the same way are not jumping into this blind.”
