Meghan Markle slammed for staying silent on friend Tyler Perry's assault scandal

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are under fire for staying silent amid sexual assault allegations levelled against their close friend, Tyler Perry.
Perry, who gave the Duke and Duchess of Sussex refuge when they left the UK and is godfather to their daughter Lilibet, has been sued for $260 million by actor Derek Dixon.
Dixon alleges Perry fostered a "coercive, sexually exploitative dynamic" while he worked on Perry’s TV shows The Oval and Ruthless.
Royal commentator Hilary Fordwich slammed the Sussexes’ silence as “a total lack of moral courage.” Speaking to Fox News, she said, “Instead of offering their stalwart support… this silence is a clear demonstration of opportunism.”
Fordwich warned the couple’s silence puts them in a lose-lose situation. “If Perry is cleared, their distance appears disloyal. If not, their silence still looks strategic and self-serving.”
An attorney for Perry has denied the allegations, calling them “fabricated claims.”
Meghan and Harry previously described Perry as a vital support system in their Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan.
He hosted them at his Los Angeles home in 2020 during their transition out of royal life, later becoming godfather to their daughter.
