‘Justice League’ star Ezra Miller reemerges after years of silence

Ezra Miller, scandal-ridden actor known for their roles in Justice League and the Fantastic Beasts franchise, made a rare red carpet appearance in Italy.

The 32-year-old actor is slowly returning to the limelight as they recently appeared at the 2025 Filming Italy Sardegna Festival on Saturday, June 21, wearing a floor-length dress.

Miller, who uses they/them pronouns, looked unrecognizable, sending fans into a frenzy. They have been away from the public eye since 2022 due to arrests in multiple cases including burglary, second degree assault and disorderly conduct.

The cases against Miller included choking a woman outside a bar in Iceland in 2020, allegedly grooming a teenager with cult-like behaviour using fear, intimidation and threat of violence (however the teenager denied the accusations).

Following the controversies, the actor released a statement to Variety in August 2022, which read, “After intense crises, I have realised that I am suffering from mental health issues and have begun treatment.”

They also apologised, saying, “I apologise to everyone that I have alarmed and harmed with my past behaviour,” adding that they were committed to doing the necessary work to become a productive person in society.

Miller’s latest appearance shows that the actor is making a tentative comeback after staying out of the public eye for years.

No, Ezra Miller did not act in original Harry Potter series. However, the actor starred as Aurelius Dumbledore in Harry Potter spinoffs by Fantastic Beasts Films.
