Queen Camilla may be one of the most stylish senior royals, but even she isn’t immune to the occasional footwear woe, as King Charles adorably revealed in a candid royal moment.

While attending the King’s Foundation Awards last week at Windsor Castle, the monarch met Lisa Kay, founder of British footwear brand Sole Bliss, and shared a light-hearted, off-the-cuff comment about his wife’s relationship with high heels.

The King told Lisa: “It gets a bit harder to walk in heels as you get older,” admitting that Queen Camilla, 76, now sometimes finds heel-life a bit of a challenge.

The Queen, who stunned in a white silk crepe dress by Anna Valentine and a Philip Treacy hat at Trooping the Colour, is no stranger to fashion.

But as King Charles joked, she now opts for heels that aren’t too narrow, leaning into comfort without compromising elegance.

Lisa Kay’s company, Sole Bliss, designs shoes tailored for women with bunion-friendly, wide-fit needs, and Camilla is reportedly a huge fan, owning over 11 pairs from the brand.

The Queen first debuted Sole Bliss in 2018 at the Royal Cornwall Show, sporting a £159 Ingrid Camel block heel.
