Royal reconciliation between Prince Harry and King Charles as well as the rest of the royal family, might still be on the table if claims made in a new documentary are to be believed.
In a new Channel 5 documentary, Harry: Can He Ever Be Forgiven?, royal commentator and Countess of Sandwich, Julie Montagu, believes the path back into the royal family's good graces starts with Harry himself.
"The public wants to forgive, but it needs to start with Harry," she explained during the special.
"Stop any type of interview where you’re mentioning any member of your family, end of story," Montagu said bluntly.
Next step, according to her, is to take meaningful action. “Whether that’s private or public, start that,” she urged.
“Once that reconciliation begins, then the public can be made aware of that.”
But the expert cautioned that Harry’s recent remarks about the King’s health may have only widened the rift.
“Is the cancer back? Is he in remission or not? I don’t think Harry has done himself any favours by suggesting that his father does not have a lot of time left,” Montagu said, calling out the duke’s comment as unhelpful and ill-timed.
The advice comes hot on the heels of Harry's latest BBC interview, which aired earlier this month, coincidentally on Princess Charlotte’s 10th birthday, where he once again spoke about his ongoing rift with the royals, including revealing that King Charles is no longer speaking to him.
"Some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book… for lots of things," Harry admitted in the interview, referring to his explosive 2023 memoir Spare.
“But you know… I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore.”
