The two rappers, Playboi Carti and Kanye West have not seen eye to eye for a while now, but the Magnolia rapper sparked fresh controversy after alleging that the Stronger rapper used an unlicensed sample in his latest song.

The song, titled Alive, was released by the Yeezy owner on May 21, and the track featured another prominent rapper NBA YoungBoy along with the sample from the song Crank.

The sampled track was taken from Carti, whose real name is Jordan Terrell Carter’s third studio album Music, released months ago in March of 2025.

The Type Shit singer quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to slam Ye (more commonly known as Kanye) over the move.

“DIS MY SONG LIL BRA @ye,” Carti captioned the post, with a clip of the music video for Crank, hinting that he didn’t allow the controversial rapper to use the thirteenth track from his album.

Although West has yet to respond to the allegation, the live streamer, Sneako, who frequently appears alongside the 24-time Grammy winner commented on the situation, saying, “Ye made the beat, clearly, if you listen to Carti’s version, it’s not good.”

Did NBA YoungBoy address the situation?

No, NBA YoungBoy has yet to address the situation, but he dropped his newest song Finest, soon after the drama over Alive unfolded.
