Tom Cruise’s blockbuster franchise's eighth movie, Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning, has its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday, May 13.

Paramount Pictures’ movie is set to release on May 23 US, and finally, China has also secured the release date despite the Trump and China’s trade tension.

Mission: Impossible Final Sequel will debut in China on May 30, after one week of its North American release.

Although when U.S. President Donald Trump administered 145% tariffs on Chinese goods, the China Film Administration announced that there would be a moderate reduction in the number of U.S. films imported into the country.

Yet, China isn’t properly following its “moderately reduce” threat to Trump’s tariffs and embracing U.S. movies with open arms.

Previously, movies like Lilo & Stitch, How to Train Your Dragon, and A Minecraft Movie debuted in China. Now, Tom Cruise’s high-octane worldwide nerve-wracking movie has passed censorship and has been given release dates in China.

Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning made its elite debut at Cannes in the presence of Tom Cruise, the director Christopher McQuarrie, Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, and other key cast members.

Variety’s critic reviewed the film as “the thrillingly doom-laden last chapter”. He said that the audience will see Cruise doing some expected action as well as the most unexpected stunts.

“He tops himself in the most outrageous way.” The critic wrote about Cruise.
