The Met Gala rolls out each year with sensational debuts, striking appearances, and dramatic outfits, and this year was no exception
So, here we count down the three most dramatic outfits from the 2025 Met Gala that embodied the Met Gala theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” and left us awestruck for the rest of the week.
Starting with the bold fashion statement by American Rapper, Andre 3000, who wore a custom-designed outfit featuring a 30-pound, 3d-printed Steinway baby grand piano strapped to his back.
The songwriter's jumpsuit was tailored from his own brand (Benjamin Bixby), whereas the piano was an announcement of his upcoming album 7 Piano Sketches.
Secondly, Janelle Monáe, along with her Oscar-winning designer, served justice to the Met Gala theme with "Time-Travelling Dandy."
The American rapper and singer’s ensemble paid homage to Black dandyism. Monáe not only honoured her ancestor and dandy family with her attire but also absorbed the theme of Met 2025.
Lastly, Diljit Dosanjh, a Punjabi singer who has earned a worldwide fan base, made his striking debut embracing his Punjabi heritage, designed by Prabal Gurung.
Dosanjh’s traditional sherwani, complemented by an ivory turban and ceremonial sword, celebrated his own cultural identity. Meanwhile, the resistance and self-definition in his fashion define the core doctrine of Black dandyism.
Vogue readers see the Indian singer among the best-dressed attendees from a momentous evening.
