Hughes says red lips are a royal red flag. “It’s too risky, smudges, stains, and potential clashing with outfits or appearing too harsh on camera,” says Hughes. Instead, Kate opts for soft pinks and nude hues that flatter and enhance without overpowering.

Kate’s signature look is defined by radiant skin, natural brows, and a healthy flush. For more formal occasions, she’ll lean into a subtle smoky eye but never heavy makeup. “It’s about enhancing, not hiding,” Hughes explains.
